Direction Setting Workshop (0.5 - 1 day)

This introductory workshop has been designed as a launch session for organisations starting to deploy Lean. The overall aim of this event is to establish the principles and structure of a Lean deployment specific to an individual business.

A number of key principles can often be resolved at these workshops, including:

  • Nature and focus of the Lean deployment:
    • Team based continuous improvement?
    • Top down Lean Interventions and Blitzes?
    • A combination of both?
  • Need for and selection of ‘pilot’ areas
  • Establishment of internal resource and facilitator requirements
  • Overall programme timing and benefits aspirations
  • Major constraints and risks

The nature of these workshops means that they have to be specific in content and agenda to match the individual needs of the business. In many cases, this workshop can be combined with an Executive Awareness Workshop (see earlier)

Who should attend this seminar?

  • Executive teams
  • Specific Senior managers with a specific interest or involvement in the Lean Deployment
  • In-house Lean Facilitators

What will they take away?

  • Key design parameters established for the Businesses deployment of Lean
  • Need for Pilot implementations to demonstrate the approach and benefits agreed and Pilots areas identified
  • Internal Lean Facilitation resource quantified and confirmed
  • Overall targets and timings established
  • High level risks and constraints identified
