Lean Case Study - Premium Aircraft Interior Group
Our client identified that labour costs were too high to be competitive and their current ways of working needed to be improved to win an increased share of new business. Furthermore their potential expansion was restricted by the current layout of the building which had made the control of the different types of products, including repair, difficult to control.
They required a review of its high volume/low complexity products so that the appropriate lean techniques could be employed to increase the productivity of its existing product base and improve its competitiveness when quoting for new products.
We worked with the client to diagnose and quantify the potential benefits of a lean approach and implemented the recommendations including a new layout. As a result of our work the Company has been able to:
Reduce lead-time from 28 to 12 days
Lost time reduced from 50% to 25%
