Lean Case Study - Building Products Company

This manufacturer and distributor of plastic products to the building/construction sector was under severe pressure on cost, quality and delivery. Bourton Group provided 3 types of lean support:

Running kaizen blitz events to drive rapid resolution of ‘hotspot’ problems

Training of lean facilitators to help drive lean improvements from within the organisation

Hands on lean support to the operational management team to drive service level improvements

The work was carried out at three operational sites and delivered immediate benefits. Examples of the benefits achieved include improving productivity in a repacking cell which allowed a move from 2 shift working to one shift, with the same output levels and shift team size.
