Our History

The chronology of our history in brief:

• 1968 the UK office was established by Ingersoll Milling and Machining.
• 1988 Ingersoll Engineers and its international offices underwent a management buyout and became independent offices.
• 1997 we changed our name to Bourton Group to reflect our wider business offering.
• 2000 our network was enlarged by the addition of the Kaufman Consulting Group in the USA.
• 2002 was a notable year in our long history we:

  Acquired Teamtalk, a highly regarded short course training consultancy, specialising in the design and delivery of training & development inititatives.

  Established the Six Sigma Group, a consortium with Burge Hughes Walsh

  Won a DTI sponsored National Training Award (as well as a Special Award) for our work with the Defence Aviation Repair Agency. 

• 2004 Winner of National Training Awards for our work partnered with Siemens Business Services on Lean with National Savings and Investment.
• 2006 Winner of the Regional Training Award for our Six Sigma Training at Network Rail.
